Mitski is back. Today, in addition to announcing a 2022 tour, she shared a new song called “Working for the Knife”, which arrives with a new video directed by Zia Anger (with Ashley Connor direction of photography). The song was produced by Patrick Hyland, a frequent contributor to Mitski, and the video was shot at The Egg in Albany, New York. Check out it, plus Mitski’s tour dates and artwork for the single below.

“It’s about going from a kid with a dream to an adult with a job and feeling that somewhere along the way you’ve been left behind,” Mitski said of the new song in a. communicated. “It’s being faced with a world that doesn’t seem to recognize your humanity, and sees no way out.”

Mitski’s last album was from 2018 Be the cowboy, which was named Pitchfork’s # 1 album in 2018. Read Pitchfork’s feature film “Don’t Cry for Mitski”.
