Red Cross offers Amazon gift cards for blood donation

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) – The American Red Cross is hoping WNYers donate blood for the holidays and is offering an incentive to do so.

Starting Monday, the Red Cross is organizing a number of blood drives across the region to address a decline in the blood supply for 10 years. According to the Red Cross, she has seen a 34.7% drop in blood donors over the past year in western New York alone.

Part of that push is a call for people to not only donate blood, but also to donate money for Giving Tuesday on November 30.

Not only is the Red Cross asking for blood donations this week, but from Monday November 29 to Thursday December 16, anyone who donates will have the chance to attend a private screening of Matrix resurrections. Anyone who has donated blood within this time frame will also receive a $ 10 Amazon e-gift card.
